How Ageas.co.uk Insurance settle your claimThey will choose whether to repair or replace the car, or pay you a cash amount equal to the cost of the loss or damage. If the repair improves the condition of the car they may ask you to pay something towards it. The repairer can use parts which have not been supplied by the manufacturer. If you are still paying for the car under a hire purchase agreement, they will first pay the hire purchase company.
Ageas.co.uk Insurance will not pay more than the market value of the car unless:
- the car is less than 1 year old, you are its first and only registered keeper; and
- the cost of repair is more than 60% of the cost of buying an identical new car (based on UK list price).
Ageas.co.uk are prepared, in these circumstances, to purchase a new car of the same make, model and specification, and pay reasonable delivery charges, providing:
- a car can be bought straight away in the UK; and
- they have permission from the hire purchase company (where relevant).
If the car cannot be driven because of the damage that is covered under this policy, they will pay for the car to be protected and taken to your nearest approved repairer. Ageas.co.uk Insurance will also pay reasonable costs of delivering the car back to your address when the damage has been repaired.
